Grief following the death of a loved one is one of the most painful and stressful of life’s events. Grief Counseling offers support at this challenging time. It is a form of therapy that helps the bereaved to explore and process distressing and confusing feelings. Loneliness and isolation are also common feelings after a loss, and the support of family and friends can be invaluable. Christie believes that confronting our loss is the most productive way of placing the loss in its proper place—so that the memories of our loved one are welcomed and beautiful and do not become memories that will haunt us until the day we, ourselves, join our loved one in the after-life. Christie is a group facilitator at the WARM (What About Remembering ME) PLACE. The W.A.R.M. Place is a center for grieving children that is located at 809 Lipscomb, Fort Worth, TX 76104; 817-870-2272; www.thewarmplace.org.
